I encountered this small plate when I visited Kyoto last year.
This was displayed at a shop named Daikichi, where
both modern and antique tablewares were sold.
The shop staff told me this plate wasn't so old, maybe in Taisho era.
I took this plate home.
Then I found that the 10-centimeter-wide plate is very useful.
For example, when I make a tea by a tea pack,
this becomes the cover of the mug like in the picture.
And it can be used for putting the tea bag for the second serve.
There are other useful ways of the small plates, for small sweets or condiments.
It will also fine for soy saurce of Sashimi, sliced raw fish.
You can enjoy Sashimi without any worries of dropping soy saurce on your white shirt !
