オリエント美術館に行ってきました。
明日まで「児島虎次郎は見た！」という企画展をしています。
虎次郎は大原美術館の絵を収集した人物として有名ですが、
イラン、イラク、シリア、トルコなどの陶器やガラスなども収集していたそうです。
実物の写真は撮れないので、図録をパチリ。
横から見るとお茶碗かと思うほど形が似ています。
図録を見ると、これらは全て鉢となっています。
当時の人はどんなものを入れてたんでしょう。気になります。
虎次郎は着物のデザインもしています。しかも、シルクロード色満載のデザインです。
なんとも斬新なアイデアです。
I went to Okayama Orient Museum.
The current exhibition is about the collection by KOJIMA Torajiro
and it will be held until tomorrow.
Torajiro is famous for collecting pictures to open Ohara Museum in Kurashiki, Okayama.
However, he also collected pottery and glass in Orient region such as Iran, Iraq and Turkey.
The second picture is from the picture book of the exhibition.
The potteries on it have quite similar form to those of Japan.
They really look like tea bowls, however, it is said that they are just bowls.
I wonder how they were used by people at that time.
Torajiro designed for kimono with motifs from the region.
What a fresh design he made!
