今日は、少し大きめのお皿をご紹介します。
阿部春弥さんの「しのぎ白磁皿」です。
直径は24.5cmで一般的には大きめサイズの部類に入るかと。
しのぎは全てフリーハンドで入れられています。
手作業なのでしのぎの全部が同じ間隔ではありませんが、
全体にバランスよく入っています。
「慣れですよ」と前に言われたことがありますが、
慣れるまでにどれだけの数の作品を作ったのだろうかと、いつも思います。
しのぎの太さも終わりも様々。
これがこの作品の個性になっています。
表の大らかな、しのぎとは対照的に
高台はきっちしとした仕上がり。
表と裏のメリハリが効いていますね。
一般的な長さのお箸を置くと
こんな感じです。
モリモリ食べたい人には、このくらいの大きさがいいかもしれません。
菜箸だと、こんな感じに。
何人かで集まってワイワイするときの盛り皿としても活躍してくれます。
横から見ても美しい作品です。
食器棚に収納しにくい場合は、あえて収納せずに
季節の果物をのせたりするのもいいですね。
