花持ちのいい備前焼の花器
Flower Friendly Vase of Bizen ware
今回は珍しく備前焼をご紹介します。
これはオフィス近くのお花屋さんにサイズやフォルムをアドバイスしてもらってオーダーしたものです。
サイズは最大直径17cm、口縁直径7cm、高さ15cmです。
通常よりもきめ細かい備前の土を使っています。
この土は、数千年～数万年かけて出来た地層の中で、備前焼に適した土を掘り出し、
数年雨風にさらしてから粉にします。それを「舟」と呼ばれる大きな四角い木の箱に入れて水を流し込みます。
そうすると、土に含まれているゴミや有機物が浮いてきます。
この作業を繰り返すほどに土は滑らかになります。
こうやって作家は自分が作りたいイメージに合う土を作ります。
今回の作品は、備前の土に1割程度の半磁器の土を混ぜて成形したものを焼き上げているので、
一般的な備前焼よりも手触りが滑らかで、和洋どちらの花にも合います。
釉薬を使っていないので、この花器自体が呼吸をしています。
なので、中の水が他の素材のものよりも腐りにくく、花も長持ちします。
※実際の作品の色は、写真よりももう少しグレーに近い感じです。

口の部分があまり大きくないので、私のようなお花初心者に優しい作品です。
底は平らで、作家・藤原康さんのサイン入り。
ここではカラーを合わせてみました。
お気に入りの花や季節の花を活ける（"入れる"と言ったほうが合っているかもしれませんが）と気分が上がります！

We will introduce you a Bizen ware vase this time.
With some advice from a florist near our office, we ordered this item.
Size: Φ17cm (max), Φ7cm(lip), h: 15cm
The soil is more smooth than usual one for Bizen ware.
This soil in Bizen was made as followed,
1. Dug the soil which were created by nature for more than thousands / ten thosands years
2. Expose it to the weather for a few years
3. Put it into a big wooden box and pour water in it to remove natural organic subjects
Through these works, the soil gets smooth.
This time, 90% of the soil is from Bizen and the other 10% is some soil of semi-porcelain
to make the item match for both Japanese style and western style.
Without any glaze, it can breathe which keeps flowers fresh longer than other materials.
※Actually, the real work looks more gray than the one in the pictures.
As the lip isn't very wide, it will be easier for flower beginners to arrange flowers.
The bottom is flat and you can see the sign of the creaters, FUJIWARA Kou.
