Treatment of a wooden spoon

三宅木工房さんのティースプーンを使い始めて1年ぐらい経ちます。

コーヒーや紅茶を飲むときやジャムやハチミツをすくうときなど、

毎日何かしらこのティースプーンを使っています。

spoon repair3.JPG右側が新しいもので、左側が1年経ったものです。

全体に色が濃くなっていますが、色がまだらになっている部分もあります。

さらにスプーンの先が少しちびて形が変わってきました。

個人的にはピカピカしたものよりは、使い込んだもののほうが好きなのですが、

さすがに「くたびれた」感が出てきたので、以前三宅木工房さんに教えてもらった方法で手入れをすることにしました。

準備するものは、くるみ、だけです。ただし、食塩無添加のものを選ぶのがポイントです。

くるみをティッシュに包んでつぶしていくと、くるみから出た油がティッシュに染みてくるので

それをスプーンに塗り込めばお手入れは終了です。

こうやって手入れをしながら使っていると、2年後、3年後のさらなる変化が楽しみになりますよ^^

It is almost one year since I began to use a wooden tea spoon

which was made by Miyake Woodcraft Studio.

I use it everyday for drinking coffee or tea, and for eating honey and jam.

The right spoon is a new one, and the left is one-year-old.

As to the left one, its color is darker than the right one 

and some parts of it have peeled off.

Furthermore, the top form of it is not round like the new one.

Actually, I prefer items with some time to new ones.

But it was time to treat now.

All I needed was a piece of walnut without salt.

Walnut oil is good for treatment of woodcrafts.

After treatment, the old one has became cool with dark brown.

How wonderful it is!

I'm looking forward to seeing it more wonderful after some more time.
